It is
with sadness that we announce that Neville “Box Head” Charlton passed away on
Friday night after a recent health problem.
At 85 he was the Magpies oldest living first grade captain, a member of the Team of the Century as well as the Hall of Fame.

Neville played with Wests from 1954-1961,
inclusive, captaining the Magpies in the 1961 Grand Final v St. George. He also
played in the 1958 Grand Final and for NSW in 1959 and '61.

Regarded
by many as "the greatest front rower not to play for Australia", Neville received an OAM in
the 2014 Australia Day honours list for service to the Central Coast community.
