The New South Wales Rugby League and Fox Sports are proud to
announce that the 2013 Ron Massey Cup and True Blue Chemicals Sydney
Shield Grand Finals will be shown on Fox Sports.
“The coverage of the Ron Massey Cup and True Blue Chemicals Sydney Shield Grand Finals by Fox Sports is indicative of the regard in which we hold these competitions,” NSWRL Chief Executive Officer David Trodden said.
“Both the Ron Massey Cup and the True Blue Chemicals Sydney Shield competitions represent another major step in the pathway towards participating in first grade Rugby League.
“In today’s day and age, not all players are ready to jump straight into first grade once they have graduated from the national youth competition, and both the Ron Massey Cup and True Blue Chemicals Sydney Shield have a vital role to play in the development and progression of young footballing talent.
“You only have to look at a players like Ken Sio and Jorge Taufua, who were both playing for Wentworthville in the Ron Massey Cup and True Blue Chemicals Sydney Shield competitions a couple of seasons ago and are now not only regular first graders, but in the case of Taufua, he is also touted as a future NSW VB Blues player.”
With the battle for the Minor Premiership still alive between Mounties and Cabramatta and The Entrance and Auburn fighting it out for a top-four position with Wentworthville, the 2013 Finals Series is shaping up as one of the most exciting in recent years.
Details for the Fox Sports television coverage of these two Grand Finals are as follows:
Ron Massey Cup – Wednesday, October 2 at 2.30pm as well as Thursday, October 3 at 5.30pm.
