Wests 1992 NSWRL President's Cup Premiership - 20 yr Anniversary

The magpies celebrate another anniversary - 20 years since the last senior grade title - the 1992 NSWRL President's Cup.
The magpies defeated the favourites, St George who had in their ranks future dragons coach, Nathan Brown plus Gorden Tallis.
The magpies side contained current Parramatta NRL coach, Stephen Kearney and future Country Origin player, Ciriaco Mescia and others who would go on to play first grade for the magpies.
The magpies defeated St George in a gigantic struggle that was in doubt until a field goal by half back Josh White gave the magpies a 15 to 14 win and the premiership.
Stephen Kearney got the ball rolling for Wests with try after he made a block busting run 15m from the dragons tryline busting tackle after tackle. The dragons responded through an intercept try with Wests attacking on the dragons 20m line and added to their tally with a further try through Tallis.
In the second half, tries to centre, Evan Cochrane and lock Matt Ryan seemed to wrap up the title for Wests until a Nathan Brown try after he scooted down the blindside from dummy half. The game looked headed for extra time but then up stepped Josh to kick the winning field goal.
